Two sexy Spaniards…
There is a distinct Spanish feel to the transfer rumours today with Real Madrid and Barcelona both chasing some bloody big names.
Before all that though – Chelsea have confirmed Andre Villas-Boas as their next boss. He’s signed a three-year deal.
Apparently, that now means Roman Abramovich has paid out around £62million in compensation to managers and clubs during his time in charge of the Blues.
Anyway, here’s what we know about transfer wheelings and dealings from the grubby tabloids and the pristine broadsheets…
Neymar’s move to Real Madrid is as good as done. Spanish paper Marca is reporting a six-year deal for the Santos striker is looking likely, with Real president Florentino Pérez willing to pay €45millon (although he’d like to pay less).
Wouldn’t we all, ay?
Elsewhere, The Sun are reporting Barcelona are preparing a rather specific £27.5million bid for Chelsea’s David Luiz. The Brazilian joined the Blues in January for £21.3million so Abramovich could be about to make a quick profit on the defender.
It’s hard to see it happening though. If Barcelona are unwilling to stump up a couple of extra million for Cesc Fabregas then surely they won’t pay that for Luiz – no matter how old and crocked Carles Puyol is.
Luiz is a very good player but, for a defender, he isn’t that great at actually… y’know… defending.
In rather less exciting news, Sky Sports is reporting that Sebastian Larsson is at Sunderland having a medical meaning the Arsenal nonsense was just that.
And in four-word transfer stuff…
Sturridge to Newcastle (loan)
Samuel Eto’o to Chelsea
Sneijder to Man City
Scott Dann to Stoke
