City produce highly vandalisable advertising campaign
Om Friday afternoon, billboards such as the one above started appearing in and around the Manchester metropolitan area. The Citizens are clearly keen to rub their new Argentinean signing in the faces of those Manchester Utd fans who wish they could have held onto him, but perhaps the nouveau riche side are getting ahead of themselves with the bragging rights.
As our friends at Republik of Mancunia point out, City have paid £25m for a man who scored five Premier League goals in 2008/09. In fact, their new £75m strike force of Carlos Tevez, Roque Sat Nav Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor bagged just nineteen league goals between them last term. That’s nearly £4m per goal. For just £5m, they could have had a certain Portuguese winger who scored eighteen on his own in the same period.
Perhaps City should wait until Tevez is banging them in for fun before they invest in any more advertising space?
Spoiler bonus: It seems the wet dog-alike has been seeking his own revenge on his former employer – the mansion they rented for him needed £30,000 of repairs after he was kicked out.
